Blazing Dragon Tiger is a live dealer card game officiated by a croupier responsible for presenting the game and dealing out the cards.
The game uses an eight-deck dealing shoe of pre-shuffled cards.
The highest card wins in this game, so understanding the card rankings is essential.
There are three main betting options.
Should the game result be a Tie and you’ve placed a bet on Dragon or Tiger, half of your bet will be returned.
The game starts with 15 seconds of betting time
There are three betting options, The Dragon, Tiger and Tie. Optional side bets are available; I’ll cover those in more detail below.
The dealer deals one card face up to the Dragon position and another to the Tiger position.
The position with the higher hand value wins.
Half the Dragon and Tiger bets are returned to players if the result is a Tie. Those betting on a Tie receive an 8:1 payout.
Let’s talk about the side bets.
There are five optional side bets:
The fifth side bet is for a Suited Tie, which pays 50:1. All the other betting positions pay 1:1.
It is possible to place multiple side bets in a game round, for example, Dragon Red & Tiger Odd.
It’s also important to note the result of the main game has no bearing on the Side bets. You can win, even if the betting side you have wagered on loses the main hand.
The side bets remain active for the first 104 game rounds. After that, they are disabled because it is easier to predict what is left in the dealing shoe once half has been used. It’s a tactic used to foil the card counters and advantage players.
Blazing Dragon Tiger has a comprehensive set of Roadmaps, which display the previous results from the current dealing shoe.
The Roadmaps behave the same way as Baccarat Roadmaps. The Bead Road and Big Road show the exact results, while the Big Eye Road, Cockroach Road and Small Roads are derived and show the predictable trends rather than the results. These help players form a strategy for where they should bet next.
It’s not an exact science, but the most experienced players use them to help create a winning Blazing Dragon Tiger strategy.
I’m a simple soul, so I like to keep my betting simple. I like to follow trends, so I tend to stick to one betting position until I lose, and then I double my bet and switch positions.
I keep doing this until I have returned a profit when I take a break and start again.
My advice is to never bet on the Tie or the side bets.
Blazing Drong Tiger is a slow-build game. Unless you bet big, you’ll not win lots of money here.
It’s one of these games where a high roller will come in, aim to double his money, and then leave.
The payouts on Blazing Dragon Tiger are relatively small when you compare them against other live casino games. The worst payout is 1:1, while the best is 50:1 for the side bet, Suited Tie.
The RTPs are also relatively low.
The best bet is Dragon or Tiger, with an RTP of 96.27%.
While the Side Bets pay the same as Dragon / Tiger with 1:1, the RTPs are way lower, coming in at 92.31%, which is shocking! You should not be making these bets regularly!
Hand | Payout | Odds / RTP |
---|---|---|
Dragon | 1:1 | 96.27% |
Tiger | 1:1 | 96.27% |
Tie | 11:1 | 89.63% |
Suited Tie | 50:1 | 86.02% |
Dragon Odd | 1:1 | 92.31% |
Tiger Odd | 1:1 | 92.30% |
Dragon Even | 1:1 | 92.31% |
Tiger Even | 1:1 | 92.31% |
Dragon Black | 1:1 | 92.31% |
Tiger Black | 1:1 | 92.31% |
Dragon Red | 1:1 | 92.31% |
Tiger Red | 1:1 | 92.30% |
Blazing Dragon Tiger is a very straightforward game, but don’t let that fool you. You still need to be sensible when you play. Here are a few tips for beginners or those wanting to make their bankroll last longer.
Dragon Tiger originates from Cambodia but was turned into a live dealer card game by Evolution in 2018.
The game’s launch included an Asian-themed studio, which many live casino providers have since adapted to their designs.
On Air Entertainments version replaces a fire-breathing dragon with a Blazing Dragon fighting against a rampant Tiger.
The studio has been enhanced with lots of Asian imagery, and the addition of computer-generated graphics during the game adds tension and highlights the winning position.
Some say the game is a cross between Baccarat and Casino Wars, which it is, but I cannot imagine for one second they were around 12,000 years ago.
On-Air Entertainment Blazing Dragon Tiger is an excellent version of this live dealer card game.
The studio design is excellent, and the camera’s proximity to the cards is great, so no computer-generated imagery is needed. Everything is nice and clear.
The studio and interface are on the dark side, which creates a rather sombre mood for this game.
There are some nice touches, with the animated Dragon and Tiger on the table flexing their muscles when the game has been completed.
Blazing Dragon Tiger is a live dealer card game from On-Air Entertainment. It is the traditional game of Dragon Tiger, with an update to the playing interface and studio.
Dragon Tiger is straightforward to play. Two cards are dealt onto the table, one to the Dragon position and one to the Tiger position. You bet on which one will be the higher card.
Blazing Dragon Tiger can be played at any online casino with On Air Entertainment games. My personal favourite is Bet Victor.
It is arguable whether any strategies can promise you’ll win. However, the game comes with a good selection of roadmaps, which help predict what may happen in the future hands. It’s not foolproof, but it may help.
Dragon Tiger has an RTP of 96.27% for the Dragon and Tiger Bets. The side bets are lower.
