Pragmatic Dragon Tiger is probably the easiest of Pragmatic Plays, live dealer games to play. It is one of those coin-flip type games, similar in appearance to Baccarat, but without the complexities.
Quite simply, two playing positions Dragon and Tiger receive one card each. You bet on the hand you think will have the higher value when they are revealed by the dealer.
There is also a range of side bets that can be played alongside the main hand, which adds a bit of additional excitement while playing.
This isn’t a game where you’ll be able to win large amounts for small stakes. Most of the bets, including the side bets pay even money, 1:1. Only one bet, the Tie, pays more at 11:1 or 50:1 for a suited tie.
As Dragon Tiger games go, this version from Pragmatic is comparable with the best that Evolution and Playtech have to offer.
You won’t get short-changed if you choose to play Pragmatic Play live dealer Dragon Tiger.

Here is my guide on how to play Pragmatic Live Dragon Tiger online.
Before you start, I’d like to give you a general overview of the game rules, so you can understand the context of the game you’re going to play.
The game starts with the dealer announcing betting time is open. You have 16 seconds to place your main and side bets.
While betting time is open, the dealer takes the top card from the deck and places it to one side, face down. this is the burn card that is discarded.
The next two cards are taken from the dealing shoe, with one placed face down on the Dragon position and the other on the Tiger position.
When betting time has completed the dealer turns the Dragon and Tiger cards over, revealing their values.
The system compares both cards, the position with the higher card is declared the winner.
If the cards are the same value a Tie has occurred, you’ll get paid 11:1, or if it is a suited tie you’ll get a 50:1 payout.
If you didn’t bet on a Tie, half of your initial stake is returned to you.
All side bets are settled before the next game round begins when betting time is opened.
The side bets in Pragmatic Play Dragon Tiger are optional and can be played alongside the main hand.
There are some restrictions that prevent you from placing “hedging” bets. This means you are not allowed a place on the same side Odd/Even, Black/Red, Big/Small bet. bets across both sides are OK.
There is also a general restriction in place. After 50 Hands have been played, all side bets are disabled. Basically, this is because it’s easier to determine what the results are likely to be with the remaining cards in the dealing shoe
Note: The seven is not used in the calculation. A seven is a losing bet.
This pays even money, 1:1.
Note: The seven is not included, so if a seven is dealt the resulting Odd bets will lose.
This bet pays even money at 1:1.
This is a true fifty-fifty type bet. You’ll get paid even money if you can predict whether the card will be red or black.
All cards are included in this bet.
The best side bet to play out of the three is the Red/Black. This side bet has no house edge, so it is a try 50-50 bet, unlike the other bets where one card, the seven is always a losing bet, regardless of the bet you have placed.
Pragmatic Dragon TIger comes with five roadmaps, which are used to display the history and trends of the dealing shoe and past completed hands. They are based on the traditional Baccarat Roadmaps, so understanding these can help with your Dragon Tiger play.
The Big Road Map shows the results in the order they have occurred since the dealing shoe started.
The top left of the grid has the first result. If the next result is the same side (Dragon/Tiger) it goes below, if not a new column is started. This continues as the dealing shoe is used up.
If there is a Tie, it is shown below the last result, unless it’s the first result of the shoe, when it is shown in the top-left position.
The Bead Plate is an exact representation of the results of the shoe.
It shows the winning hand, the value of the hand, and the order in which the wins occurred.
There are several ways to view the information which can be seen by clicking or tapping the map on the screen.
For the average player, this is the most useful of the roadmaps.
The Ask Dragon, Ask Tiger functions enable you to see the impact on the roadmaps, should the next result be Dragon or Tiger.
It’s a little gimmicky but does yield some useful information if you like using the Big Eye Boy, The Cockroach Road, and The Small Road as alternative road maps.
The return to player for Pragmatic Dragon Tiger is 96.27%, based on the Dragon/Tiger bet.
A Tie has a theoretical return of 89.64%, while a suited Tie is 86.02%.
All Side Bets have an RTP of 92.31%.
Pragmatic Dragon Tiger is an Asian-influenced card game. It looks like Baccarat but is actually a high-card wins game, played with one card in each hand. The highest value card wins! Dragon Tiger has to be one of the easiest live dealer games to play.
The RTP is 96.27%, which isn’t that great for a game that is essentially a coin toss. Playing the outside bets on Roulette, where there are also three likely outcomes, the RTP is 97.30%, so you can see which is the better game to play returns-wise.
There are playing strategies you can use to play Dragon Tiger. At the end of the day, you need to find something that works for you, without breaking the bank. Read more about the strategy I use.
Pragmatic Dragon Tiger comes with three pairs of side bets. Each can be played on the Dragon and Tiger sides of the table. Big/Small, Odd/Even, Red/Black. They all pay even money 1:1, with the Red/Black being the fairest side bet of all of them.
Dragon Tiger uses eight decks of 52 playing cards in its dealing shoe. The dealing shoe is changed once two decks remain.
The Pragmatic Play version of live Dragon Tiger is a good as any other versions you’ll find online by other software providers. I’d have no hesitation in playing this version.
You can play Pragmatic Dragon Tiger at MrGreen, Leo Vegas and Unibet live casinos.
